The City of Zimmerman contracts law enforcement service through the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office.  Deputies patrol the City twenty-four hours a day.  To promote a safe learning environment, a deputy is also assigned to the Zimmerman schools.  Captain Ryan Broich, who is assigned to the City, supervises them.

The Criminal Investigative Unit (CID) also provides investigative resources to the City including the following:  General Investigations, Drug Task Force and Welfare Fraud Investigations.

Although the Sheriff's Office offers a wide range of capabilities to assist the community, maintaining safe neighborhoods takes everyone's help.  Thefts, vandalism, and other disturbances create fear in neighborhoods.  We do not have to tolerate these behaviors.  Many of the crimes that occur in or neighborhoods can be prevented.

The Sheriff's Office promotes the use of the Neighborhood Watch program.  Neighborhood watch is a crime prevention program that stresses education and common sense.  It teaches citizens how to help themselves by identifying and reporting suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.  It also gives citizens the opportunity to give back to their neighborhood by working together to make a neighborhood safer and improve quality of life.

When you are in need of assistance or have a question regarding law enforcement, you may contact the Sheriff's Office Non-Emergency at 763-765-3500 or 911 in an emergency.
